Wish You Were Here . . . Diving took another trip to the Cooper River on 08-09 DEC 2007. Four divers (Andy, Joe, Eric & Zeb) accompanied Patrick and Captain Johnny. It was the first trip on the river for Joe, Eric and Zeb. The group did two dives on Saturday and one and a half to three (depending on the diver) on Sunday.

From the groups reaction to the haul it seems as though we have several more divers hooked on artifact retrieval from the Cooper. Everyone pulled some nice artifacts from the river. These include various fossilized teeth, bone, early man pottery, portion of a strake from a wooden boat, bottles and more. During the SITs on Sunday the group floated a ‘fish’ (boat towed metal detector) and found a site that warrants further investigation.

If you see Eric make sure that you ask him to tell you about his quarter mile surface swim down river from the dive boat. ;-)
